This app initially guides you through the diversity of career opportunities that are open to veterinarians, and includes short video clips from leading veterinary surgeons.
Being a veterinarian can be extremely rewarding and exciting, but also challenging, and this app also gives you an insight into whether you may have the specific qualities required to become a veterinarian. Once you have decided that being a veterinarian is the career path for you this app will then guide you through the general principles of how to gain entry to Vet School, explaining the type of course you need to apply for (e.g. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), or its equivalent qualification in the United Kingdom, e.g. Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (BVMS)), and what qualifications and experience you require in order to be able to apply for admission.
You can navigate through information and links to one of the world’s premier Vet Schools, the School of Veterinary Medicine, The University of Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom. This School is internationally renowned for its veterinary teaching, clinical expertise, animal hospitals and veterinary research, and it is one of the very few Schools globally that is fully accredited by all of the major relevant bodies, including the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) and Australian Veterinary Boards Council Inc.(AVBC). Therefore, qualifying from a prestigious Vet School, such as Glasgow, would enable you to be a veterinarian pretty much anywhere in the world. Finally, once you have been successful in gaining entry to Vet School, this app also provides very useful generic information on preparing for Vet School, and what University life in general is like.
